In March 2015 there was an outbreak of Influenza in the canine population in Chicago area.  Since this time we have learned that this is a new strain of Influenza(H3N2).  Our current Influenza vaccine protects against the H3N8 strain and does not currently cross protect for the H3N2 strain.  With this in mind we are now carrying the new vaccine that Merck developed to help our Canine family stay protected from this new strain.  You can contact our office for more information @ 541-265-7448 or visit the following links.

Keeping your pet healthy is not only about making sure they have good food, water, shelter and lots of LOVE but, also about making sure that they are up to date on their vaccinations.  There are many different diseases that your pet can get which in turn can make them very sick.  Some of these diseases can even pass to us.  As important as your pet receiving vaccinations we wanted to share this link on what to expect when your pet this happens.

Beware of what you feed!  Even when we think we are feeding the best food out there or giving our pets the best natural treats made in the USA does not mean that we can become immune to the reality that recalls happen.  There have been two new recalls on pet food and treats to include MANY different treats purchased from stores like Target, Costco, Walmart, Petco and Nutri-Vet; plus some food from Nature's Variety.  The links below have some great information on what treats and foods are part of the recall.

Leptospirosis is not a problem to take lightly.  This is a  bacteria that your pets can get as well as you and  it can be deadly.  A few years ago on our beaches here on the Oregon Coast we had Sea Lions that where dying from this disease.  We make sure to include this protection in our DHLPPC vaccine that your pet receives each year.  Check out these links for more information.
